Books for food

To-day I visited several used book stores and the Stockholm public library. It's round! The face of Stockholm is on several of the older books.

We have been to see Storkyrkan in Gamla Stan. It is a beautiful sanctuary with a lovely organ. We'll celebrate Palm Sunday there to-morrow and soon Easter, too!!

The Big City

We arrived in Stockholm this afternoon and are staying in this boat hostel.

We first visited The Vasa Museum because it will be closed for the next six weeks. I especially like the carvings.

We walked before dark.

Siljan

We had a nature adventure to-day exploring the Lake Siljan area in Dalarna. First, visiting Naturum in Björkberget, the view was spectacular from the tower.

Next, we had a camp-fire lunch on a little island around Lake Siljan.

Finally, we visited the Kulturhus in Rättvik, where they have collections of plants, insects, and butterflies.

My current slöjd projects: twined knitting and embroidering a felted cushion

On Friday, we visited Anders and Emma Zorn's house and the Zorn museum here in Mora. I wish I had one of these old guy wooden spoons.

On the ski trail

Everyone competed in the school's Skeriolvasan to-day, though some skied farther than others. Our reward was a medal and fika with blåbärsoppa.

Vasaloppet Sondag

We saw the first skiers finish the big 90 km race around noon.

Flags on this windy day

Yesterday we had fika at Mora Kaffestuga. I've been reading Alice i Underlandet.

Stratford-upon-Avon

I finally got to visit Stratford-upon-Avon last Saturday! I think I had high expectations since it is such a famous town, and it was a bit m...
