By the sea

To-day we visited Kalmar Castle and the island county of Öland. It was a warm, clear day; rather windy by the water, as expected.

Gamla Uppsala

Though it is a wet, snowy day to-day, we had excellent weather for our visit to Gamla Uppsala last Thursday.

We saw the viking burial mounds and the location of the archbishopric in Sweden from the 1100s until the late 1200s.

Two impressive cathedrals

First the Domkyrka, or cathedral, of Linköping and next Domkyrkan in Uppsala, where we went for church this morning. My favourite of the two was Uppsala's. I love the painted ceilings and the pictures can just not capture the beauty of the sun through the elaborate stained glass windows.

Further adventures on spring break

Around the city of Göteborg: Stadsmuseet and the jelly fish at the aquarium

Our room in Linköping overlooked the city. We took a walk past Domkyrkan the evening we arrived and walked in town all day to-day.
