I've been in Uppsala, Sweden, in August for Uppsala International Summer Session. It's a language programme for adults of all language levels to improve their Swedish that takes place over three or more weeks every summer. There's a morning language class assigned by level, and in the afternoon there are classes on different topics about Swedish culture. I'm proud to say that I successfully passed up a language level by the end of the three weeks! For the afternoon class, I took the poetry course where we studied the Swedish poet Karin Boye. I have tried to translate a few of her poems before and it was really insightful to discuss her poetry, especially in Uppsala where she studied and wrote many of her early poems. There was a group field trip to Gamla Uppsala, Sigtuna, and Skokloster Slott, and on one of the Sundays I also visited Fjällnora near Uppsala.
