Norfolk Children's Book Centre

Hello again friends. Happy New Year! Today I had a lovely morning at the Norfolk Children's Book Centre in Alby. I can't believe I had never heard of this bookstore before now, but I actually found out about it from a book of maps I got at Oxfam. It was a beautiful clear day (a little windy) for the bus ride and short walk to the bookstore. Sitting at the top front of the bus, I could see over the hedges to the fields and pastures much better than when I travelled this way to the beach at Waxham in a car. When I rode the bus back through Aylsham, I noticed cobblestoned walls and thatched roofs on buildings, which is common in Norfolk. One of the bus shelters even had a thatched roof.

The Book Centre is like a cross between a bookstore and a library because you can browse the curated collection and buy books! I couldn't resist getting a few of the Swedish to English translations that I admire, as well as an edition of Alice and Wonderland with Tove Jansson's illustrations. (That's one book I have at home that I missed over here.) But I took a lot more pictures of books I would like to find at the library, and when I returned to Norwich I did find a couple of them right away at the Millennium Library.
