October SELTA Workshop

The Swedish English Literary Translators' Association (SELTA) hosted a workshop in Edinburgh last week on the theme of memory and voice. I had an excellent time hearing from three different Swedish authors and talking about translation from Swedish into English (a lot of the time in Swedish!). We met at the Scottish Poetry Library, a neat little space just off Canongate. And I made some new friends who hosted me at their amazing top floor flat in Newington with a view of Holyrood Park!

I travelled back to Norwich through Cambridge in order to attend a Reformation Sunday service with the Lutherans there, and I met several students who are studying at Westfield House this semester. It was a beautiful, sunny Sunday on which to give thanks for God's blessings and guidance this past year!
